Azure ExpressRoute

Connecting on-premises networks to Microsoft Azure through ExpressRoute, coordinating Microsoft, Lumen and internal teams. The focus is BGP routing, redundant paths and end-to-end connectivity.

Engineering focus

Support a multi-site ExpressRoute deployment with two circuits and four links. Coordinate carrier and Azure connectivity, validate BGP route exchange and troubleshoot the forwarding path between on-premises services and Azure.

Scope of work

  • Coordinate circuits and handoffs with the provider and internal teams.
  • Validate BGP sessions, expected prefixes and route selection.
  • Check redundant connectivity and application reachability across the hybrid path.

Design goal

Resilient private connectivity between enterprise networks and Azure, with clear routing and troubleshooting visibility.
